It’s being reported that Dermot Mulroney has been cast as Jim Rockford in NBC’s controversial (in some circles at least) remake of the classic show The Rockford Files.
The iconic role was originally played by James Garner in the 70′s.
I’ll be frank. This felt like a bad idea from the initial announcement. But I will say this. Network TV needs a good PI show. With all of the procedural type shows on the air right now they all kind of wash right together if we’re being honest. A PI show would shake things up. I don’t know if Rockford is that show, we’ll have to wait and see, but there is a void that can be filled by the right show.
