Spinetingler

Let’s file this one under the Hope It Gets Picked Up.

Michael Mann is directing a pilot that is scripted by David Milch and starring Dennis Farina in a horse racing drama pilot for HBO.

The show will take a look at the world that surrounds the track through a large cast of characters.

After serving a three year sentence Ace Bernstain hooks up with his longtime partner and muscle and plan to make a movie that involves the track.

Vague? At this point, sure. But with that pedigree count me in.

Here’s a bit of speculation though that makes that strong pedigree even stronger. One of Milch’s go to script writing guys is Kem Nunn, who I talked about yesterday. Nunn is a brilliant writer who has worked on Deadwood and John from Cincinnati. My guess is that Milch might tap Nunn to work on Luck if it’s a go.
