A couple of weeks ago Eric Beetner (Co-author of One Too Many Blows to the Head along with J.B. Kohl) made the scene at this year’s Left Coast Crime in L.A. and along with sitting on a couple of panels and hobnobbing with the crime writing elite, Beetner had the opportunity to sit down with Kelli Stanley, author most recently of City of Dragons, for a video interview.
Find out what Beetner had to say about Kelli Stanley and the interview after the jump .
Kelli Stanley has been winning rave reviews for her novel City of Dragons, featuring escort-turned-detective Miranda Corbie in 1940’s San Francisco. Infused with a palpable sense of place (even the addresses and phone numbers are real!) City of Dragons adds to the canon of P.I. tales with a completely unique main character who acts as both the P.I. and femme fatale of her own story.
I caught up with Kelli at this year’s Left Coast Crime convention in L.A. to talk about the book, her process and the history of the classic detective novel.
So without further delay, check out Spinetingler’s latest video interview with Kelli Stanley:
