Spinetingler

It’s not often that I get a message that gives me pause. But I just got a message telling me that David Mills, TV writer, longtime collaborator of David Simon and head writer of Treme collapsed on the set and has died. The Investigative Voice is reporting on the story.

David Mills apparently died of an aneurysm at a hospital in New Orleans late Tuesday night, according to a source close to the set.

Find more on this story after the jump.

Mills was also an active blogger, as Undercover Black Mman, on a wide variety of subjects including TV, politics and music. This was a blog that I read everyday for years.

Chances are you’ve seen his work since he had a hand in shows like Homicide: Life on the Street, NYPD Blue, ER, The Corner, Kingpin and The Wire

This is an absolute shock and he will be missed.

We will stay on top of this story as more details come out.
