Poontang and Other Poems by Charles Willeford – review

Poontang and Other Poems by Charles WillefordBecause it’s a small book of poetry it’s a quick read. I read it over a cup of coffee. I’m a fan of Willeford’s prose but never have really had the chance to read his poetry. You can’t beat the price.

Willeford clearly was a man who loved words and that love comes through here. One shouldn’t expect the dark stylings of his prose but the imagery here is striking. Well worth the price to read this rare 1967 collection.
