The 2011 Anthony Award Nominees have been announced and we are pleased to announce that Spinetingler has been nominated for Best Website honors.
The Anthony Awards are special, because the nominations come from the dedicated fans and authors who attend Bouchercon, and the winner will also be determined by the votes of those who attend Bouchercon this year in St. Louis.
Although I have been named in the nomination, I want to express my thanks and appreciation to the people who have made Spinetingler what it is. Kevin Einarson was the original co-owner, co-creator website designer and editor. The site would never have existed without him. The site is now owned by Jack Getze, Brian Lindenmuth and myself. Jack has taken over the fiction publication, and wades through the submission folders, seeking out the best short stories for the site, and he works with both new and established authors. Brian oversees our non-fiction content. He is in charge of the annual Spinetingler Awards, ensures new content is regularly available, and contributes reviews, articles and interviews, including his annual series, Conversations With The Bookless.
Part of me feels a bit embarrassed posting this response to our nomination, but it’s very important to me to acknowledge the Spinetingler team. Everyone who has contributed – including Keith, Nerd, Claire McManus, Gloria and Theodore Feit, and early reviewers and interviews like Kate and Kevin – has helped build this site into one that’s valued by the crime fiction community.
My thanks to everyone who’s been a part of Spinetingler Magazine.
And our thanks to all who read Spinetingler and appreciate what we do. The other nominees are exceptional sites, and to be honest, we were just stunned to receive the nomination. It really was a pleasant surprise to find ourselves named alongside these other wonderful sites, and we appreciate all their staff do as well, as many of those sites are must-reads for the Spinetingler team.
