Richard Kadrey – interview

Over the past several years, Richard Kadrey has established himself as one of the best of the new breed of urban fantasists. With his Sandman Slim novels (Sandman Slim, Kill The Dead, and Aloha From Hell) Kadrey has blended hardboiled crime fiction, horror, and dark fantasy and has created a wholly unique, compulsively readable universe which is regularly compared to such fantasy luminaries as Jim Butcher and F. Paul Wilson. I sat down with Kadrey at the Poisoned Pen Bookstore in Scottsdale, Arizona on his recent book tour in support of the third Sandman Slim novel, Aloha From Hell, to talk to him about the roots of the character, the next arc of books in the Sandman Slim series, and his innovative photographic work among other things.

I hope you enjoy
