We always try and seek as much input as possible in gathering nominees for the Spinetingler Awards. We keep an eye on end of year best of lists from different places and we invite people to tell us what they liked. In addition to these I want to try an updated version of something that was done in the first year of the awards. Simply put we want direct input from you.
So please take a moment to fill out the survey.
If there are questions about when a book was published (eg: published in the UK last year and the US this year) tell us. We’ll sort it all out.
While the Spinetingler Award is a crime fiction award please keep in mind that we maintain as broad as possible a definition of what crime fiction can be.
Thanks for taking the time!

Exciting!
I live in Dayton, Ohio and was pleased that Bill Cameron, who lives in Portland, OR, had set a portion of his novel, County Line, in and around Farmersville, a small town to the southwest of Dayton. I’ve also read his other books, “Lost Dog,” “Chasing Smoke,” and “Day One.”
Cool survey.
What a great idea! Now I can spend some time remembering what I enjoyed reading this year and I won’t be daydreaming. I’ll be doing research. Thanks!
I’d quite like to see a novella section. There have been some really tasty ones this year, though it might be there aren’t enough to make a category. I’d go The Point, Hoodtown and DIg Two Graves off the top of my head.
