Parker trailer – thoughts

I am on record as saying that a character in a film doesn’t have to physically resemble the character as described in the book. Hell, I’ve even said that race and gender shouldn’t really matter. With that said I am very on the fence about Jason Statham as Parker. It’s not a physical attributes thing it just that he Stathamizes whatever roles he touches. He did it with Brant. And I say that as someone who likes him.

But that cast? Shit man, what a cast. I’m in just for that at the very least. Bunk, Mackey, Nolte, hell yea. Mix in Statham and that’s a lot of testosterone.

Parker has been brought to the screen a few time already, most popularly by Lee Marvin and Mel Gibson.

What about a Parker, played as a period piece, with John Hamm, in all of his Mad Men glory, playing Parker.

Thoughts?

  1. I hated the trailer. Could watch the film for Bunk only, but that’s not enough.
